MAA is an incorporated society founded in November 2002. We have members of Ethnic Chinese from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Indonesia, and a number of Pekeha from New Zealand, Bulgaria and South America. We use music as a bridge to facilitate communication among members, particularly new immigrants, and to promote friendship with people of the mainstream community. The Association is devoted to developing diversity of the culture in New Zealand. Our main sponsors are from the government and local business organisations.

The Association has had over 20 concerts so far, including 2 invitations by Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, 1 by Manukau Symphony Orchestra, 5 by other musical associates and corporate organizations.

是政府註冊的非謀利團體 , 成立於 2002 年底﹐聚集了一班旅居新西蘭的華人音樂家和音樂愛好者。他們來自中國大陸、臺灣、香港﹐馬來西亞及印尼等地，也有一些新西蘭人 , 經常在一起切磋技藝，舉辦活動。協會不僅給大家提供展示才華的舞臺，豐富華人的多元文化生活 , 而且幫助大家溶入主流社會。奧克蘭音樂協會不是一個商業演出團體，主要資金來 自政府及 華人商家的贊助。

協會自成立以來曾單獨舉辦音樂會或被邀請參加奧克蘭愛樂樂團 , Manukau 交響樂團及其他社團的演出活動共達 20 多次。 [ 奧克蘭音樂協會 ] 堅持以音樂為紐帶和橋樑，加強團員之間，特別是新移民之間的交流﹐促进与不同族群和社區的融合，為纽西蘭多元文化的發展盡一份责任。
